Clutch fan

Yesterday while sitting in traffic I noticed that my truck started to heat up a bit..not alot but then again it wasn't that warm out maybe 65. The fan didn't come on at all so I'm wondering if there is a way to trouble shoot it and see what exactly is the problem. TIA

Not sure how close they are, but my '06 fan only comes on during >110F days or when towing >5k up >6% grade.

IIRC, your truck has a fan clutch. Other with experience for your model year will chime in.

It was about two widths of the needle past the center mark but don't remember it ever doing it before. Like I said it was only 65.

hmmmmmmmm get it hot and then pop the hood see if the fan is spinning fast... also cycle your key three times and see if you get any codes. i have a fan issue but mine is stuck on so for the moment it isnt bad but when winter hits again we may have an issue

I haven't heard it come on and usually I can hear it when it does. Maybe it didn't get hot enough.
