CB Radio install
I'm not sure if this is the right location for this... But I am adding a CB to my truck, and I'd like to have a shop finish the install. I dont have an SWR meter to set the SWR's correctly, and i want to make sure thet the radio I have is working correctly. I have the 6-spd, and i plan on mounting the radio at bout a 60 degree angle inside the pocket that is right in front of the gear shift arm. That way it is out of the way of my knee hitting it on entrance and exit of the truck.
--Does anyone know of a Good CB shop around DFW?? I dont mind heading out a little ways (40-50 miles to get a good shop to install it for me.

Call any of the truck stops you may have in your general area..ie. Pilot, Loves, Flying J, TA, Petro and so on...they should be able to tell you who has a cb shop near by. Most of the full service truck stops cater to big rig cb needs and have shops on premises...hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I'm working out by the airport next week, so I'll are what I can find out there... As for my mount location, Verdesardog has my idea. But my gear shift lever gets in the way. If my CB mounted there, I'm out 1st,3rd, and5th. So I'm thinking of mounting it in the open space below the A/C controls.
Hopefully I can get it shoe-horned in there...

Otherwise, out west of FW are a couple of shops (Ranger Hill, and one in Weatherford) that have long-time good references (including me, sorry I can't remember names).
Follow up and let us know. I'd like up-to-date info. Thanks!

Good idea... I never thought if that opinion. I've had to push this project back a bit until I can get the a/c fixed...
Do you have a photo of the install?
