Welcome to the Forum!

I've been thinking of that as well. My first thought was get something that would sit between the console and cup holder. I know they make one that will fit between the console and cup holder.

I have a mount that sits on the floor with spikes on the bottom that keeps it from sliding. Only problem with this, you can't open the cup holders. It also has a speaker built in.

As far as antennas, I will mount mine off the side bars on the Headache Rack. The mirrors on the Dodge just are not very good for mounting unless you want to drill holes in them and use backing plates on the other side to keep it tight.

I have an old Royce with a Turner Road King Power Mike I might use or might get one of the Galaxy SSB rigs. The other clean set up is one of the things you mount under the seat and have the mic with all the buttons on it in one place.

my dodge has bucket seats and the console fills up the whole space between the driver and passenger. thought about on either side but it will be in the way of your legs for driver and passenger. also the four wheel drive is a **** on the dash. no shifter!! i know there is a solution but i just cant picture it. thanks guys! any other ideas?

To tell the truth this was the reason I decided not to get a new Galaxy-where to put it and have it handy/not in the way/look good.
Asked Santa for a Midland 75-822.

Here is what I made. I only need the CB for highway trips so I take it out for normal driving. It is just pine book shelf material painted black. I can still use the cup holder and open the center. At least an idea.

Thats where I had it on my 2001 but i mounted it with a steel bracket that bolted to the seat mount. Unfortuantly it wouldn't work with my 6spd.

I only use on long trips, raise top consol cover put a bungee cord around radio and around cover, hook together on bottom which will be on inside consol, allows you to open and close cover, use cig plug in consol with adapter plug.
PS: Turn radio over to hear speaker or use mounting braket as a leg to hold radio up off consol so as to hear it

Mine has the complete console also. I mounted mine in the square hole closest to the seat using some super strength velcro to hold the radio bracket to the inside of the box. I modified the bracket somewhat to get the radio to sit like I wanted and used a 90* PL259 to get it to sit far enough down. I took up the rubber bottom in this hole and drilled a hole just big enough for the coax and wires to go thru. This way no wires show and when I get a new truck there are no holes visible in this one. The velcro does a good job of holding my RCI 2950 which is not a small radio.
