CB mounting locations

I just got a CB for a trip I am making next week and I was looking for locations to put it. I have a 3rd Gen Mega Larmie, so the center console takes up a lot of options. I really do not want to make large holes and if there are more temp options I am interested in that also. Something that I can take out and not leave a foot print. I got a Cobra 29 (bigger that I was expecting).

I will probably be mounting it more perminantly in my 2000 Ranger, AKA "Stinky Pete". It is my hunting rig and is what I will be using this winter Coyote Hunting.

If there is a thread with this topic, please direct me that way. I searched and did not find anything under "cb".

What I have come up with is using small bungy cords and straping it to the Drivers side of the console.

If you are going to only use it temporarily, I'd bungee it to the side of the console. I am assuming you are also going to be using a mag mount antenna.

Not too many choices with the console, some bolt it to the pass side, some have fabbed up a roof mount, going from the overhead console to the center bulkhead.

the roof mount would work if I did not have a sun roof.

I have an auto so I bought the panel to replace the "drink spiller" with one for a manual. I then mounted the CB bracket to it and reinstalled it. I think thats a great location and easy to reach. I also have a small bunge cord from the overhead cliped to the "mike" to keep it up about eye level. It works for me.

I got a mount from Geno's garage. works well, easy to install and keeps everything out of the way. loosen two bolts to install or remove. but it does say that it doesn't work with sport consoles.
