fuel presure isolator mounting locations?

Ok now that I am still trying to decide what method to use for installing my pyro...here's my next dilema....has anyone come up with any creative ways or places to mount the fuel pressure isolator? I refuse to drill any holes in the body so I am therefore thinking of making an aluminum bracket to mount to the big hole in the lip of the cowl by the brake booster and use a large washer with a bolt. The only thing I don't like is that vibration could take it's toll on the bracket over time unless I design it differently...but does any one have any solutions that they have done? Pictures would be great as well if anyone has them.

Thanks in advance,

We have heard of guys mounting the isolator on or near the battery tray.

I mounted mine on the engine side of the battery tray . I put the plastic lip that comes on the isolator on the side of the battery tray and marked my holes and drilled them, installed the isolator with sheet metal screws.

It looks like a professional job and is not in sight when looking under the hood.

The best place to mount it is in the trash. It will end up there anyway when it fails.

Ok, so I finished my install this weekend...I would like to thank everyone for the awesome idea of mounting the isolator to the battery tray. It looks great there and is out of the way. I will post pics in my gallery later as I haven't downloaded them to my computer yet.

Again thanks to everyone!

Thanks, I am about to install a fuel pressure gauge myself. The battery tray sounds like a great idea. I appreciate your pic.

Geico266,

Some of the cylinder/plunger style isolators had definite problems for sure. The one we have been selling all along has been a flat diaphram style. Nothing to fail as the membrane is a flourelastomer that is impervious to diesel fuel etc. We have never had a defect to date!

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Dipricol C160160 and D195100 isolator? I've seen both p/n's...

Experience pro/con with either one? I'm buying something soon.

I don't think there has been a more true statment ever typed on this site. I got tired of screwing with mine I threw it away and went electronic, screw in the sending unit and run one wire. No more leaking, filling, bleeding, over and over. Doesn't matter which brand you use either.
