CB Installation?

I am looking at installing a CB and am wondering if any one has any suggestions on the best place to install one? I have a SLT so it has the floor mounted console in front of the middle seat. This makes things a little tight for mounting anything. I would love to see some pictures of were you have mounted your CB’s. I am also looking for suggestions on were to mount the antenna. I will be hauling a camper so I have been thinking of something up front out the side of the hood. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up CB Installation

jp

I installed a CB in my truck in front of the center seat. I have it standing on end and use velcro to hold it in place to keep it from falling over. The controls are easily accessed, also.

There is a 90 degree connector on the back of the CB for the antenna connection. This permits the antenna wire to lay flat on the rug as it comes out from under the cup holder assembly. The antenna wire was run to the bed of my truck. I remove the CB when it is not in use and it was an easy install.

I hope this gives you an idea so that you can install your own CB.

The Cobra 75wxt is a small unit with everything in the handset/mic, no big bulky box to find space for, I like it for this reason as I also have the floor console. I mounted the ant.s on the front fenders with some no drill brackets I bought from a local CB shop, nice and clean IMHO...here's a pic where you can see the two ant's (2M ham near side and CB on the far side, same type of brackets)...

Ive got a NV4500 in my '03, at the time it was my dads truck and the only rule was I couldnt drill a single hole in the truck. I took the console out of the floor and made a metal plate that went around the existing console holes. I put the console back on top of it and bolted it down. The CB is on the passenger side of the trans tunnel w the bracket bolted to the plate I made. I was told it was going to be in the way, but havent had a passenger complain yet, and I have a Galaxy 88 in mine.
