Any ideas on where to mount a Cobra 29 in the cab and where is the best place to mount the antena. I had it on the front fender on my 99 but the mount won't work on the 03

I mounted mine on the knee bolster under the steering colum on the right side. The antennas look good mounted inside the front two bed pockets. there is a large enough hole in the pocket to easily slide the wires through without drilling anything. I just fabbed up a piece of small angle iron with two nuts welded on the back side and inserted two bolts from inside the bed to secure it. Good luck

Iwas thinking of the same spot for the radio. But I have a hard tonneau cover so I can't use the bed pockets

I mounted mine on the tunnel next to the 4x4 shifter (see my gallery). If your running stock power, a Wilson mag mount would be a good choice above the rear window.

Im also looking for ideas to mount a CB in my 6 spd truck.. Ive looked at big bobs mount that mounts to the middle seat up front, but I carry six passengers fairly often, and see that mount as being in the way.

I have my superstar mounted to the drivers side of the four wheel drive shifter housing. It works great as long as someone short doesn't have to drive all the time. I didn't think of that when I put mine there and when my wife drives she has to be careful how far up to move the seat. It doesn't get in the way mounted there. My antennais mounted to the front of the bed in the center of the rear window, but I can't make up my mind if I want to leave it there. It all works great. Don't have any pictures yet, still trying to figure out how to get them on here. Good luck.

Has anybody tried the glass mount antennas I will be putting a hard cover on the box so I won't be able to use it to mount the antenna and I don't like the magnet mount because they leave a mark in the paint after it has been on for a while

I had one on my old truck, it was a piece of junk. I wouldn't do it again.

Just my .02c, your results may vary

I have a Midland Window mount that works fine for my needs. Had one on my last truck and worked well enough on long trips.

Some info from earlier post on TDR and link to that thread.

SWR Readings with new SWR Meter. I took these twice, because I didnt really believe them. Not bad for a $19 Window mount and a 16 year old Radio Shack TRC-484.

Channel 1 SWR 1.7 Transmit Power 2.8
Channel 19 SWR 1.5 Transmit Power 3.5
Channel 40 SWR 1.7 Transmit Power 2.9

You can get that gauge pod just about anywhere you can buy gauges for our trucks. One place I know of is www.egauges.com or www.genosgarage.com as well.
