That will probably be the first thing they check for, but look on the bright side now you have a reason to get a new tranny.

They may look at key cycles if they are perticular. The only programmer that is not noticed supposedly is the Smarty.

I think this makes 4 toasted tranny's in the past two weeks (posted here), all had programmers on them. All taken to dealer for warranty work and making it tougher for the rest of us to get any legitimate work done.

This is true...I think once you start moding these trucks one of the first mods you should look into, if it fits in your budget, is the tranny. It is well worth the investment.

I agree 100%. If you put a box on your truck and fail to use self control and your trans takes a dump. You should own up and pay up.
I can`t understand how someone can mod the truck with a box, over power the trans due to lack of control and act like they are surprised it broke.
Then try to hide it from the dealer. I hope they monitor this and every site to catch these people.

I agree, however it would be nice for Mopar Performance to come up with a box that would be under thier warranty! Maybe they should hook up with smarty!!

not trying to start anything but i think thats a terrible thing to hope for! people sometimes forget that there a true tranny falilures that can be from defects from the factory and not abuse. i also dont really see how a couple trannys being warranted is going to be putting such a tax on DC that they will be refusing others warranty work. IMO everyone needs to relax and stop raking guys over the coals. i think this site would be more beneficial if we didnt rag on people so much and show alot of negativity.

brett

but if you have gone through like 2 or 3 transmissions, then you obviously need to upgrade from the stuff DC keeps puttin in it

DC never offered a warranty on a modified truck. They warranty the product that THEY designed and built, not one that someone else designed. If people want to experiment and push limits to see how far they can go with mods, which I think is great, then they also need to be willing to pay for resulting repairs when they go too far.

No my truck did it a little before I put the box on it. I hardly ever floor that thing. I dont even remember the last time I did. Anyhow, I have had the truck for like 2 weeks. When I put the box on the slipping became more noticeable thats all. It wasnt the box's fault nor mine. The guy who had it before me apparently towed alot of stuff and there is a trailer hitch in the middle of the bed(not sure what they are called). I love how this site is supposed to help people out but I get insulted by people who just assume I cant control my foot.

My truck went into the shop (not dealership) with 127 miles on it and diden't come out until it was done, now I diden't do a clutch yet because why not blow this one up first ya know. So I happened to do down to the dealership and told him about it and he said oh no problem bro I can get them to put a new one in even with the mods, I said ummmm no thanks I don't want the same garbage anyway.

My understanding is that, the dealer does not know of a programmer that was installed but can tell that the factory limits have been exceeded, fuel pressure, boost, egt and such. Therefore the can very safely deduct that something caused this to happen. Thus a programmer of some kind.
