Camper Weight Info Sheet

Just got a 2006 2500 and noticed there wasn't one of those sheets in the glovebox that lists the max weight of a slide in camper for the truck. My previous trucks had this sheet, so is mine just missing or did they stop doing it sometime between 2003 and 2006?

You can fill your truck up with fuel, cargo and passengers without a slide-in camper and weigh it. Take that weight and subtract it from the GVWR you can find on the driver's door. That will be the max a slide-in camper can weigh fully stocked.

If its a new truck, the camper sheet should have be there, perhaps not in the glove box but mixed in with the other papers. The dealer must provide you one.

2500 Megacabs are not approved for slide in campers.

My MegaCab came with the sheet and was rated for a 1270 lbs. camper, so it must be approved.

The dealer probably lost it.

Given the truck is so new, you should be able to contact DC for a replacement sheet. They will need your VIn, though.

FYI...my dually had the sheet. But, I ordered the truck, so it never got test drove by anyone else but me...only had 6 miles on it when I took possession!

HTH
