A/C info!
I just signed up on DTR thanks to the info I've been able to get off this site. I really feel like it's made a difference in the response I get from the dealer when I can site your facts!
Anyway, my 2003 2500, 35K miles, was freezing up every 2 hrs on the 14 hr drive through Georgia in 97F heat! I also noticed that my passenger side was blowing 10-15F warmer than the driver vents. After reading your posts I called the dealer service manager and went through your issues (low 134A, air door recal, evaporator sensor, etc). He had never heard of relocating the evap sensor, but we agreed that low 134A was a definite possibility so he told me to bring it in. He indicated that the AC door could be out of whack as well but had only seen that on a Grand Cherokee. Anyway, he knew that I had data to back my claims and admitted that Dodge has been having evaporator issues; added GM is having compressor issues! The result:
Leaking evaporator found after dye check
New evap installed
AC doors checked - no action
System recharge
$0 charge!
Both sides blowing about the same temp & cold on the 15 min ride home in 95F outside temp
I'm pretty happy right now - hope it stays that way. He said that sometimes when 134A gets low, it might not cool the evap equally, thus causing the temp difference. Hope this helps. Thanks for all your info!

I didn't ask him that question, but it seems like a good one, maybe for DC to answer. Anyway, it looks like we've got some momentum on this topic judging by other threads. I'm just worried about what's going to happen once 36K is up! Sounds like ball joints might be another good one to look into before I hit 36K.
