Bypassing TIPM for foglights

My fog lights quit some time ago and it appears the TIPM is causing the issue. I tried having it reset at the dealer but no luck. No biggie, I can just run them outside of the TIPM control with a relay but.... If I still wanted to use the factory switch to trigger the relay, would that work?

I think I can tap the WtT/LG wire in Pin #1 at the headlight switch and run that through a relay to ground and it should work but I'm not 100% sure as the TIPM has way too much control over things...... I miss my 1st gen...

Any thoughts on my plan?

I was pondering the same thing but I never had factory fog lights but I wanted it to look factory. I'm thinking it wouldn't work though because if I had to guess it seems the headlight switch might just send a single signal to turn on and turn off fog lights with each push of the button rather than simply turning on and turning off the signal. I could be completely wrong however.

In other words I'm thinking it's a momentary signal and not an actual " On/off switch"

When it comes time to actually fix this issue, I'll just bypass the whole works including the headlight switch and TIPM. Complete stand alone harness for lights.

I was wanting to hook up my fog light like this too, but couldn't figure out what wire to use. It seems like there should be a wire you could cut into at the TIPM to power a relay for them.
