I had a 04 2500 quadcab 5.9 4x4 auto., I fell asleep in one night and wrecked.. I didn't want a 6.7 and need at truck fasdy so I bought a 2010 2500 crew hemi. I just sold it, because it got terrible gas mileage esp if towing anything.

I am now looking for an 1998-2006 2500 / 3500 diesel 4x4.

For some reason I remember yhe 1st 3rd gen ( 2003) had some issue, older tranny, something else??

Any input?

also any thoughts on 6sp vs manual?

I don't use my vehicle for work anymore so it is just a weekend, hunting, camping goiing to Lowes thing

My 06 has been great so far, 113k and only replaced 2 small seals, great mileage, (2 wheeler) tows great, 12k lb 5thwheel, I do pudder around it and check stuff as Im retired, the last 5.9 2007 should be a good one also, 2007.5 are the 6.7
