boregson 951 steering shaft???
I have read a couple of posts that were old, and borgeson now has a direct replacement shaft part # 951. narrowed my steering clicking or poping down to the steering shaft, it was really bad after not using the truck for 2 months.oiled the shaft and half the noise went away, but it is still there annoying me! has anybody used the new 951 shaft and do you like it or should I buy the junk oem replacement? or any other aftermarket company make shafts for these trucks ? thanks kully

I have one. I'm not aware of another company that makes a quality replacement shaft to replace the OEM POS. The only thing that was annoying about the Borgeson is that it is too long. I thought maybe I got the wrong part. I was able to easily shorten it without any trouble. I later found out that I'm not ther only one that experienced this problem. Regardless, it is the only substitute I'm aware for OEM and it certainly does have much higher quality needle bearing u-joints and tighter tolerance telescoping shaft assembly than the OEM so take that FWIW.

thank you for your reply, I spoke to boregson several days ago and was told that now it is a direct fit with no cutting . the old part# was a 950 and the new part # is a 951. he said the only thing I would have to do is maybe file the shaft with a notch for the set screw if it does not line up. did you have the clicking sound also in steering wheel, dodge calls it a snapping sound. also did it tighten up you steering a little thanks kully

I bought one for my truck and sent it back.
Until the come out out with a better retaining system that those lousy set screws I won't put one in my truck. I know two people that had their Borgsen shafts fall off while driving on washboard. Both had used loctite on installation but after a few years the shafts worked loose and fell right off. They should be using a clamp style yoke like OEM not just a set screw. The shafts just look like tractor pto shafts.
