Bilstein 5100, replace or not?

I've got a Kore HP kit coming, it comes with front coil, rear mini pack, sway bar spacers and bilsteins 5100 shocks. I already have the coil spacer and bilsteins 5100 on my truck, and they have 40,000 miles on them. Should I reuse my old shocks, and sell the new ones on ebay, or just install the new ones?

I'd be happy with 40k on a set of shocks.

my vote would be to swap the old for the new. no point in having to redo your shocks again cause you wanted to save a couple bucks.

I think I would replace the old ones and then sell the old ones on ebay.

Remind me to not ever buy anything off eBay from you!

The Bilstein's are guaranteed for "life", right? If they leak Bilstein should warranty their replacement. So sell the new ones and put the $ toward a
new track bar.

Use the old ones and keep the new ones in the box until you need them. Nothing like having a backup set stashed away for a rainy day.

Yeah, right. Just like Dodge says the trans and diff fluids are designed as "fill for life" in normal service. Define "normal." The whole idea behind this concept is most people won't run into a problem during the warranty period if they do absolutely nothing but the bare minimum required to maintain the vehicle. After that it's somebody else's problem.

Wear parts wear. That's why they are called wear parts. Don't kid yourself.

I guess I'll compare the new ones to the ones on my truck, if I can feel a difference compressing them by hand, I'll put on the new ones.

I'm thinking of replacing my track bar bushings with offset bushings from lazersmith, and using the shock money for longer control arms then maybe run 37" tires on stock wheels. Who makes a good 1/2" longer control arm?

My manual says to change the differential fluids every 15,000 miles. The only thing warranted on a shock is leaking. They do wear out just like the rings and cylinder in an engine.

I'm in the middle of installing the Kore HP system, and I decided to replace the shocks. The 5100 that I had on there in the front, the part number ended in H5, the new ones end in H7. Wonder what the difference is?
