Bilstein 5100 - National Backorder - Now what?

I've been waiting for a month now for my 5100 series Bilsteins. Got a call last night saying it was going to be another 4-6 weeks before all 4 shocks would be sent to me. From that, I told them to cancel my order.

Question: Which other shock would compare? Another series of Bilstein? I was looking at the Edelbrock IAS shocks - does anyone know about these? I think they're pretty new on the market, so I'm not sure many people would have much experience with 'em yet.

Thanks all.

Both of those part numbers are still available at a number of warehouses / distributors. My advice? Search out a different dealer. If you still can't find any let me know.

I've got the 6647's on the rear of my truck and they are coming off. I'm working on a Fox 2.5 - just have to get my buddy to help me valve them. The 6647's in my case were a disappointment... the truck hops worse unloaded with these shocks than it does with the stockers.

Aloha, are you saying the Bilstein 5100's were too stiff? How was the overall ride vs. stock - any improvements?

I'm not satisfied with the ride. In my opinion, the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks I installed are no better than the stockers they replaced. I had them sitting around the shop (since before I purchased the truck) so it was worth a shot at trying them out. They are still on the truck but I've got plans to get rid of them ASAP. Again, in my opinion, they did nothing to help the rear ride quality of my truck... a few hundred bucks, a few days of tweaking, and I'll have a pair of 2.5 Fox shocks valved just how I want them.
