Angry best oil+addative (hate to ask again)

I use a synthetic blend made by Schaeffer. I like sythtic and am wondering if a full sythetic is being used by many. Also I hate to bring up the addative thing again but would love some sort of input on weather or not to use one?

I run Amsoil 15w-40 Marine Diesel oil year round in central texas. Only additive I use is a hot-blonde sitting in the passenger seat

Just go to the Amsoil site online and enter the store,
http://intershop.amsoil.com/cgi-bin/Amsoil.storefront

Register and sign up as a Preferred Customer, to save money. Then have the stuff shipped directly to your door. The 15w-40 (code AME) is;
AME-30 (30 gallon drum) is 395.00. the AME-55 (55 gallon drum) is 668.00.
AME-05 (2) 2.5 gallons is 71.00 or AME-04 (4) gallons is $60. The site can tell you the shipping costs too...

Good luck

I don't really think that an oil additive is necessary for the most part. Even if you're going to run extended drains, I would think that a good synthetic and bypass filters would do you a better service than an additive.

Check out this site to see some "tests" on Lucas oil additive.

I suppose I am more interested in the ability of addative(s) to raise the cetane rating and keep the fuel system compnents clean. I have read in some posts recently about cetane rating having a rather large impact on mileage. I have looked at 4 diesel pumps and asked the proprietors about the ratings and none were to be had???

I just recently started using ROTELLA DFA from Wallyworld in every tank of fuel (8-10 oz).

I was getting alot of Diesel noises, knocks, ticks, vibrations, etc from the engine before I added some of the DFA....just a thought.
