Battery suggestions please

This morning I got the P2509 code and the Check Engine Light. My 05 has just over 104000 miles and the original batteries. I intend to test the batteries but I am pretty sure at least one of them is starting to go.

I am looking for suggestions from the masses. I am considering any and all batteries. If you could, tell me what battery and why. Your help is greatly appreciated!!

When my factory batteries died, I replaced them with the (2) Interstate Mega-Tron Plus batteries. What I liked most are: 850CCA and an 85 month NO B/S OR HASSLE warranty. What I liked least: 50lbs.

I have ran Interstate Batteries for a while.

I installed the Sears Diehard Platinum batteries three years ago in my 01.5. The Sears Platinum batteries are manufactured by EnerSys to the same specifications as their Odyssey battery line. The Diehard Platinums cost less than the Odyssey batteries as well. I am very pleased with their peformance so far.

The 03 still has the original Mopars;however, when they are due for replacement, I will certainly go with Diehard Platinums.

The battery I chose, after doing some research, was the AC Delco 65-7YR. 850 CCA and 50 month complete replacment warranty, at a price I was willing to pay. The AutoZone battery was a close second. Or, if you're willing to pay a premium price, the DieHard Platinum is a good one as well.

I got the diehard platinums from sears. Like 900cca or something but pricey at around $350 for the pair.

Engine spins quick when starting!

I bought group 31 commercial batteries from O'Reilly's. Starts right away in sub-zero temps after sitting out for two days, after cycling the grid heaters two or even three times. I had them in my 2001.5, and thery were great there, too. Kid who bought my truck mentioned how well the truck treated him starting in the frigid temps and through all the ice storms, when there was no power to run the block heaters. I am a believer in the big 31's.

Another Sears Diehard Platinum user. I went with the smaller P1 series due to availability (it was an emergency, DOA in a parking lot). Even the P1 has more CCA than the OEM's.

You guys are going to love this one!!! After reading the responses here, diligently researching all the suggestions I decided it was time to pull the trigger. Before I spent the dough on the batteries I wanted to make sure it was not the charging system. In my mind if I test both batteries and only one has low voltage, my charging system would be fine.

At any rate, I popped the hood, low and behold, the driver side Positive cable had worked its way loose. I took that opportunity to take all cables off and clean them (both batteries). They both tested at 12.5 v.

Reassembled everything, started the truck and the CEL was gone. I guess I don't need batteries yet. Thanks for the input though!!!

Hey make sure you delete the code in the system. I think it still does some funny stuff if I recall correctly. Like my overhead would reset every time I shut the truck off and some other etc.
