Banks Monster Exhaust

Well I finally found a new truck, will expand on that later. Question at the moment is does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on the Banks Monster Exhaust System for the 5.9's? Don't seem to see lots of Banks supporters with the Cummins.

I don't like them because they don't sale turbo back exhaust for trucks that come with cats.

Check out the MBRP exhaust systems in the DTR store. One of these is going to be my next truck upgrade.

I bought a cat back Banks exhaust 4 years ago, I have a 1/4 hole
that came from the inside out. the Banks is a 409 stainless system
that will will rust if you live where they use salt on the roads in
the winter. Last week I bought a MBRP 304 system from our store here.
I paid less money for MBRP exhaust then the Banks.

When I bought my 04.5 it came with a banks monster exhaust on it. It sounded nice, but when I looked at the muffler closer I noticed the weld on the end caps of the muffler where cracked. You could see soot where the exhaust gas was escaping from the crack.

Over the weekend I was able to ride in a used truck at a car lot. Wasn't interested in purchasing the truck but wanted to drive it to hear the exhaust. The salesperson thought that was weird but he helped out. As near as I can tell a MBRP Straight section of Stainless, probably 409, from the bottom of the exhaust elbow below the turbow were it heads back, to a Magnaflow fully polished Stainless straight through mufler, use stock tail pipe and a MBRP 5" Dual wall stainless polished tip. The truck sounded great, not real loud, mellow but deap and throaty and it looked good too. I think this is the combination I am going to go with. Muffler $188.00, straight section of pipe from MBRP, $70.00 and I already purchased the tip for $53.00. I think this might be the combo I have been looking for.

Had that problem with mine also. They replaced the muffler at no charge.
