How much noise did this system add to your truck? I am looking at doing the cat back system, but don't want alot of noise in the cab. Most of the time I will be running empty at 70-75 mph. I don't want a system that I have to adjust the radio everytime I speed up. Any help would be appreciated. Also I know that banks isn't a popular subject, but I can get a great deal and I liked it on my 02 so I will probably go back if it isn't to loud....Thanks

 

Mines not a cat back but a full system.On a hard pull with a load it can hit a LOUD spot.But at 70/75 its fairly quiet.

 

Mine is also the full system (03's didnt have a kitty, and had the 3.5" turbo outlet). It is louder, and I can say that I am only slighty looking forward to having a quiet one again when the 06 finally gets delivered. But then, I bet it wont be long till I put another one on.

 

I had the turbo back on an 01 with their ebrake and Ottomind tuner. If you are running empty at those speeds it is quiet enough ... not all that noticeable in the cab.

However, when I was towing my 5ver and the truck had to downshift then there was an obnoxious drone in the cab. When the RPM got up to 24-2500 RPM and it was fueling heavy it was pretty bad.

That is one of the reasons I have the 06 coming ... plus more power, quieter, better towing gears than my 3:55s BUT primarily because it has dual zone air conditioning. I can finally have the AC on and the wife can have the heater going

 

That and the dual heated seats was my reason for getting the Laramie. Now if they could just put dual fans in the air system, I could completly eliminate the whine factor from the right hand seat....!

 

Complete system here, turbo down. It had a awful drone with just the Banks, I added the Aeroturbine at the bottom of the downpipe and the drone went away. When loaded and making some BIG power... the wife says it's a little loud... me, I'm to busy watching the vehicles that I'm passing with a BIG OL GRIN on my face I would do it again, but I would have the dual tailpipes.

 

On the 06 t its Maybe 1 to 3 decimal's higher in the Cab,when towing or your foot is into it 3 to 6 higher, when towing heavy 8 higher, On 03-04 it is much louder without the Cat. When or if you upgrade to a dual wastegate Turbo it even get higher, I have the Banks Monster muffler with a Magnaflow race muffler right in front of the Banks Muffler NICE an Quite.
