BakFlip or Pace Edward Tonneau

Ok guys I am going to replace my fiberglass Jason Tonneau cover since I now tow a large gooseneck on occasion and taking the heavy fiberglass cover offer is becoming a pain.

I have narrowed it down to replacing it with a BakFlip 4 panel cover or the basic Pace Edwards aluminum rolling cover.

Both are withing a few dollars shipped to my door, but I wanted to get the DTR nations opinoin on what you think is better and why between the two.

Loosing a bit of bed space is not an issue for me, but I want to have the low profile look and make sure it lasts many many years and dosen't fade or require replacement.

Thanks,

Jay

Can't speak for the Pace Edwards unit , but I have the bakflip on my 07 Mega Dually. Seems to work OK , only Issue is after washing in winter , the tailgate seal freezes to the top of the tailgate, requiring some warm water to thaw so the tailgate can be opened. (Canadian owners call this the Phantom tailgate security system). If this seal is wiped down dry, this is not much of an issue.

Thanks - since I live in southeast Texas freezing won't be a problem.

I've had the Bak Flip for over a year and it still looks good and basically I'm happy with it. It is not 100 % watertight if that's important.

J10...
I have a roll back cover for the long bed in my truck and it is moderate quality at best. I had a quality issue and was given a phone number in the LA area. I called and the warranty person was out of town for two weeks. I called back and left (4) messages and never was a call retuned. I gave up.
There is a lot of excellent products on the market, this is just not one of them. I will replace this unit soon since I cannot find support, with somebody who will support their product.

Bakflip is ok, had it about a year and maybe I will get another year or 2 out of it. then I am throwing it in the garbage. The glue comes off the seals and I reglue every few months. probably a 3 year life cycle that's it. next one is the "jack rabbit"

Pace Edward contractor rig on my truck, you could mount the system one rack modules later on, or not, tool boxes could be mounted between the uprights if you wish. I work my rig hard every day, the cover still looks new.

I love my Agricover. I know it's not on your list but you might want to check them out. Great product, easy to install and really nice people to do business with. I think they're even made in the USA.

Check out Undercover....you can stand on it, and light enough to take off yourself (with a bit of practice)

If I remember right when the Bak-Flip is open it blocks the rear window? I ended up getting a Fold-a-Cover, it folds flat upfront so I can pull our 5er without pulling the cover off.
