back up horn

Is there any way to disable the horn when backing up with the drivers door open? It usually gets me when I am hooking up my boat and need to back up only a foot or so. Thanks

The best way on those to totally disable it is- underneath the driver's seat there is an attachment on the right side of the seat which consists of a male and female attachments. Pull them apart(it is hard to pull them apart) and when they are apart take the 2 fine prongs, and bend them around each other so they contact(be sure they are tight) and your problem should be solved!!

The seat belt shorting doesnt work on all the trucks. Tried it on mine and didnt work. Finally got p'd off and installed a switch on 1 of the horn leads. Now I can shut it off when I need to

You're not shorting the circuit, you're completing it with this mod.

Truck doesn't realize you aren't wearing the belt, so no horns, lights, chimes or other irritations...

sorry for my terminology......yes you are completing the circuit and no it doesn't work on every vehicle. Heck I clipped my seat belt in and it still sounded the horn.Did the same thing on 3 other 05's I know of.

Huh?? Isn't the 2006 tranny a 48RE?? This is a solution for the 2006.(My brother did this.) I understand it doesn't work on the 04.5, or 05 if they did the recall, as it is programmed into the computer, rather than an electric wiring thing. 223 doesn't state the year of truck.
