Aux Power Outlet in Console

I was looking over my 05 catalog and saw this was included in the Laramie J package. Shed some light on my ignorance if you would, but this is an AC outlet isn't it? It isn't an additional DC power outlet like my 95 has by the radio. It's actually something you could plug a laptop in?

No, it's a 12v 20A DC dc circuit. My 05 has the lighter plug itself, one a few inches under it, and the one in the console. Pick yourself up a small 400watt dc->ac converter from Walmart, Sam's, or HomeDepot/Lowes for around 30 bucks.

I couldn't picture an AC plug inside the console, but an adapter would give me one. Thanks for the tip.

I thought he was, but he must have got stopped at Customs.

Actually a local dealer has a 6 speed, but it's an SLT. I'd prefer a Laramie J, which has the SLT options and alot of other things I planned on getting like the light group, fogs, adjustable pedals and a few others. In other words, instead of a SLT, for another $1100, I could get what I wanted, plus leather, heated seats and the aluminum wheels.

I still haven't closed the doors on finding an 02 HO, but like the 05's with 6 speeds, they're rare around here. If I order new now, I'd be a ginea pig for the G56, which doesn't interest me. Quite a quandry, isn't it.

Did I just hijack my own thread?

I'm sure you know this but don't settle. Especially if you plan to keep this truck as long as your current on. The other thing you can do is get online and start looking at nearby dealer inventories.

One problem with checking local dealers sites is now all CTD's have a "C" as their 8th vin digit and most don't tell you which tranny. I've been unable to view window stickers on their sites and have emailed a local dealer and DC about this. I got responses but no help. I get an "unauthorized access" when the new window opens. They obviously want you to call or email them so they can get some contact info.

Until the 48RE came out, any "C" or "7" in the 8th spot meant HO, hence the six speed. I am curious how the G56 will feel compared to the NV5600, but since the silver 6 speed I mentioned that just arrived at a local dealer was built in August, it will be late spring, maybe summer before I'll see a G56 around here.

I stopped at another dealer on Sunday and they had 2 CTD's, both 2500 qc with the 48RE.

I know what you mean about settling, that's why I'm not trying to squeeze a 48RE or SLT just because it will save me some $$.

6 speed Laramie

Check this site--www.shelormotormile.com---. They have several laramie's with the 6 speed listed. They have around 15 on hand with and without the 6 speed and are quoting good prices on purchases on the internet. They are in Virginia but have the stock.

P.S.-- My dealer was looking to order me a new 05 with 6 speed and DC said that they have cut off any new 6 speeds on the 05 for this model year. So what is out there is all thereis for the 05's I think.

I just checked and I didn't see any Laramie's in the 2500 or 3500's. I see they're not to far from Lynchburg and I know it's a 12 hour drive from Lynchburg to here, so that wouldn't be too bad of a trip.

Are you sure he didn't mean the code for the NV5600 was discontinued and the new code for the G56 was added, if they've done that already?
