Question Another Tire ????

HEY ALL IVE been looking for some tires ,i was forced to buy these real garbage tires about 6 months ago ,anyway i need new ones now ,i was thinking either 315 bfg or pro comps , i seen a set of 33 12.5 17 today and they look nice i was woundering what a 315 equilalant to and would 35x12.5x17 fit w/ no rubbing or lil at full lock,i am planing to put springs or spacers in the front and air bags in the rear later on after the tires ,i just need a lil advice ????

315/70 r17's are the equivalent of a 35/12.5 r17's ( they are about 1/4" shorter and roughly as wide). I have the 35's on mine with Skyjacker D25's(started @ 2.5" but have sagged to 1.5") they only rub on the control arm's with the stock rims. Aftermarket rims with a backspacing other than stock will rub on the trailing edge of the fender. I know a guy w/a 2500 Hemi that was carrying a 1000# snowplow on the front with 315's and still no rubbing other than the control arms.

315's or 35" should fit a stock truck but yes you may experience some rub at full lock on the lower control arms. Also be prepared to loose a little of the "umph" off of the line. Takes a little more pedal to get those babies rolling.

If a leveling kit is put on that would eliminate the rub problem, wouldnt it?

I think the wider tire on the stock wheel is what makes the tire rub the lower control arm. You may need aftermarket wheels in order to eliminate the control arm rubbing issue.

Combining a 2"wider and 4"taller tire will cause the rub, a leveling kit won't keep the tires from rubbing since they do nothing to move the control arms inboard and away from the tire.
