annoying vibration

I have 2000 miles on my 2003 H.O. and there is an annoying vibration around 2000 rpm. Sounds like its coming from under the dash but not sure. i'm going to bring it in but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this from their new trucks.

Re:annoying vibration

Is it just related to 2000 RPM? Or, is it related to a specific MPH in every gear?

Re:annoying vibration

One of the two 2500 4x4 QuadCab CTDs that I test drove had this vibration and it does sound like it was in the dash. It seemed to be at an RPM band of 200 either side of 2000. If it matters, the Laramie had the vibration and the SLT did not. The Hemi SLT I drove did not have it.

Re:annoying vibration

Vibrations which are RPM specific can be related to a natural frequency of vibration in the engine or torque converter since they have the same RPM. It could be something not properly tightened in the dash area that has the same natural frequency and has a sympathetic vibration which amplifies the frequency into the audible range.

Since any vibration in the drive train could be serious in nature, bring it to the attention of your service department. It should be diagnosed to put your mind at ease. ??? ???

Re:annoying vibration

My truck had the vibration problem. What I found was that the auto transmission dipstick tube was zip tied to what looked like an AC line going into the cab. It was transmitting engine vibrations into the cab. Maybe something similar somewhere under your hood.

Mine was giving me some front end vibration at 60 which is 2000 rpms on the 4.10. Had them rebalance front wheels - - gone.
Bob
