Alright I officially have gremlins lots of em...

Ive made a post about my speedo sometimes deciding not to work and my brake lights coming on during. Now I have no dash lights, no HVAC lights, my pillar gauges are no longer lit, my horn doesnt chirp when I lock the doors anymore, if I dont turn the windshield wipers completely off when I shut the truck of they will continue to operate, the dinging noise like I have my lights on or the key in the ignition will continue when I turn the truck off, ummm oh yeah my stereo will continue to play when I turn the truck off as well. Also when I turn my lights on I hear a small humming noise that lasts approximately a second that sounds like its coming from directly behind the instrument cluster. I have checked all fuses and they seem to be good. I was thinking possibly a wire loose behind my stereo but I really dont know, any suggestions?

This a very uneducated guess, but do you think you possibly spliced into one possibly two main power wires when hooking up your gauges and now theyre coming loose.

What is the history of this truck? Buy new or used? Has it been in high water or flooded areas? Your getting feedback from somewhere.

As far as I know the truck has not been flooded and it shows no signs of it. As far as the gauges go I did not personally install them. What are they usually tapped into so I can take a look at it. Also Im going to pull the stereo out as its not working now anyway due to the fact that its asking for a security code I dont know. How do you get that panel off thats around the stereo so i can look around?

I can't believe the radio would do all that stuff. If you plug the radio in with it pulled out of the dash will it do it. Look for wire spliced onto the radio wiring or inside the dash. Look for wires rubbed through that may have shorted on the radio when installed.

This was one of those none too happy get it the heck out kinda jobs. My radio is old and junky and has been acting up. I just wanted to get in behind it to look around. I pulled the radio out covered the wire ends with electrical tape and realized everything was working again. As far as my speedo it hasnt done its trick yet but Id be very suprised if this has been fixed it just hasnt decided to quit working since I pulled the radio. But all the other problems immediately stopped when it was removed.
