Air presure

What air pressure are you guys running with BFG's 315 70 17? I don't haul or tow very much. My 315's are wearing fast on the inside and out side edges. I do need upper and lower ball joints. Could tis be the problem?

Outer egde wear means under inflation.

Tires are riding on sidewalls and probably getting hot as well.

I run Michelins so sorry no help on pressure in BFGs.

I run what Dodge recommends in the manual in the Michelins.

50 all around.

If you are wearing both edges evenly it sounds like your under inflated...

A good rule of thumb is 80% of the max pressure stated on the side of the tire. probably around 45 - 50psi

I personally run Max pressure on the fronts and -10 max in the rears.

That's just me...

The full 80 psi

I still have the stock Michelins with 55,000 miles on a five tire rotation every 5,000 miles. The tread depth gauge reads 9/32 still left on all 5 tires. I do not think the ride is any stiffer than at 55 psi. Just my two cents worth.

I played with my stock 265's a little and could run them up to about 70 before they started only rubbing on the centers.... And they were STIFF... My 285 toyos can't take as much air due to the width increase, but I run the front at 65 and the rear at 50... even when I had them at 70/70 getting ready for a camping trip they were MUCH softer than the OEM rubber... thou thats probably why they dont last as long, but they do offer an amazing increase in traction.
