Looking for an alarm system for my truck. Wondering if dodge made one that will work with my current keyless entry? Maybe remote start too. Anyone know where I can get one or is this a dealership only order?

 

Go to your local dealer and ask for part # 82209694 thats the factory alarm for your truck takes about 4 hours to install, directions are very good and will show you every screw to take out to do the install.

This is the kit that I installed, if you have any questions PM me, by the way with tax the alarm cost me $188.40

You can buy a factory remote start kit from the dealer or off e-bay cost is about 250.00 to $275.00 if I remember correctly, though the dealer will tell you there is no kit. but you can get one and install it along side the factory alarm (2 different installs)

For this reason some have installed an after market system (alarm, remote start) some report cost is cheaper others spend a lot. I have not installed a remote start, but thought about it just never wanted it that bad.

Try a Viper Alarm.I got it and I love it;stock got locked and jammed so went with a aftermarket Viper Alarm and its not to sensitive.Only if someone bashes into it,hits it;it makes a chirp 3 times.And if someone breaks into it,can't start it without the remote even if they have the key.Trust me I tried it
