most dealers parts dept don't know doodle, and WON'T go look in the box.
you need the VIN off a truck that has the dash you want, in order for the dealer to find it without them having to exert any effort.
my local dealer has them ALL in stock, for $160, said he could do $140,
but he would NOT go open a box, to find the silver one i wanted.
so i ordered it from Seattle, ~$90 or so plus shipping.
call Doug at www.dodgeparts.com, and he has them all broke out by color and part number.
but, he did send me the wrong one (wood grain instead of silver) so make sure you are clear with him.
i will post my wood grain PN tonite.
can I get a PN on the metra or other kit to physically mount the Nav unit too?
i bought the unit from crutchfield, but they really DON'T provide a one stop solution like they used too.
yes, the stock Navi opening is too big, but the AVIC D3 comes with a 1/4 spacer trim ring, but i have no idea how to mount it.
it's just a flat peice of plastic.

the crutchfield mounting kit, you have to ASK them for this, and they will include it, free of charge, they just don't have it in their system to automatically add it to the kit:

Has anyone installed a 2-DIN head unit like the Kenwood DNX-6140 using the standard radio bezel? I'd like to keep the original bezel just so I can keep the cubby whole. I know the dash will need to be cut and that is not an issue for me. Just wondering if there is enough dash to cut out? I would use the 1 din with the flip up screen, but I am pretty sure it would last less than a month with my kids. Thanks for any input.

I'm also wondering about this, can you use the stock single DIN dash bezel, but cut away enough to go to a double DIN. I want to keep my cubby hole because my Espar controller is mounted in there. Does anyone know if it's been done, and if there's enough room to cut it out? Thanks.
