do you have pics of your trim job? I really dont want to get woodgrain. Anybody have the pop up screen? It just seems easier to get the pop up screen rather than get a different dash and all that. Only thing im worried about is how the pop up screen will fit in my truck and if it will break on me.

how to mount aftermarket Nav unit in non-nav truck?

what kind of brackets to use?

i know i will need a 1CP581J8AA bezel:
http://www.hunt-radio.com/ServiceParts2.aspx

but how do you physically bolt the unit to the dash?

http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9692

. I started with the small factory dodge radio, and swaped to the nav dash. I will pm you with the parts you would need to install it to look stock.

2006-2007 Dodge Navigation Dash:
(OEM part comes in many colors)
https://www.dodgeparts.com/index.php...601d5814c5babd

OEM part numbers for the Navigation Dash Bezel for the 2006-2007 Dodge Ram, if you prefer to go through your dealer:
1CP581DHAA Slate Gray
1CP581J8AA Khaki
5JZ121DHAC Maple & Slate Gray
5JZ121J8AC Maple & Khaki
5JZ131Z2AC Maple & Satin Silver

Install kit:
American International CD-K650 (by far the better looking)
or
Metra 99-6510. I currently have the Metra part and will be changing to the American International, I will post a new pictures after I get it installed.

Antenea adapter:
Metra 40-cr10
or
Scosche CRA
or
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL CR6

Can Bus Adapter:
(provides VSS, reverse, illumination, switched power, etc wire connections from the factory harness)
Scosche DCCR03SRB
or
Peripheral Concepts CHYAH05

This would be everything you need to install an AVIC D or Z in a 2006-2007 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, or 2500 without factory navigation.

what did you pay for the bezel? the ebay for $52 + S&H is cheapest i have found.

crutchfield included the can bus adapter for $39 (regular 70)
that should control the power properly

The Metra install kit has ears that line up with factory holes in the dash that are there for the install of double din units. So it bolts right in with a couple of (4) course thread screws.

custom fit double din

I dont know why dodge in there 06-07 models didnt make the radio double din but I had to do some triming to get it to fit and it went in real nice

as you can see at the bottom where I made the cut of that little piece of plasitc and I used elbow bracketts to hold the radio in place as you can see where the volume *** was at......later ill go in and fill that hole with a piece of plastic from a single din kit or something......

Or instead of filling it you could get a dash from a truck with NAV and cut that bigger. You'd lose the little cubby though. i think

I have the pioneer D3. I ordered the factory nav bezel and the Tetra install kit to reduce the opening. I also used the periphial harness adapter from cruchfield to hook up the VSS and reverse signal wires. I willtry to post some pics later.

I put in a kenwood 8019. I ordered a nav bezel off ebay for like $70. Dodge wanted over $200 I think.

You can get the bezel from a dealership and the dash kit from Metra. The bezel cost me $90 and the Metra kit cost about $20.
