Aero 4040xl Install
To those that have installed this, if I have the offset pipe and the muffler will this be a direct bolt in install? The muffler is 26" and the offset pipe is 28" which makes the whole thing 4'6" (minus where they overlap). Is the stock muffler really that long because it seemed shorter when I installed the cat delete pipe.

Ok so I got home and measured stock muffler to be 3'. So how is this offset pipe supposed to work? Guess you get to cut it to size? I have a sawzall that will make easy work of that but no pipe expander, don't think I need that. Thanks for any responses.
Bought everything from Parleys Diesel btw.

i wouldnt install it that far down the line. they work better the closer they r to the turbo. if u still the cat on, put it right behind it, then put the pipe were the muffler used to be. if no cat, then put it were the cat was.

kitty ran away (stored away in case I ever need it on for an inspection), what do you mean when you say it works better closer to the turbo? quieter, louder, deeper, less drone? thanks for your input.

the closer to the turbo u put the aeroturbine the less drone u have. plus lower EGTs. my cat was stolen.... dogonitt, so i put the aeroturbine in its place and it killed the drone. my wife loves it, that should tell u something. actually i read up alot on the aeroturbine before i put it on my 02. (my previous truck) and everything i read said it performs better on a diesel the closer u put it to the turbo, so thats what i did on both my dodges and i couldnt be happier. cheers!

I put an AT on my truck and loved it for about a month. It was too loud for me. It would be cool if you could turn it on and off but you can't. I'm sticking with factory app.

Where did you have yours mounted and did you still have the cat?
And.. you could have an exhaust cutout valve which could direct it through one muffler or the other but thats a lot of custom work, but it could be done.

I put one on my '05 and love it. Its just forward of the rear axle where the stocker used to be. I didn't have a cat, so I just cut the old off and installed the new. There was a small misalignment due to the difference in mufflers, but you can just fudge it a little and it all fits and looks good. I love the sound of mine, a little throaty but not too loud. My tires are louder than the exhaust.
