Adding heated seats to 2007 Quad Cab
Adding heated seats to 2007 Quad Cab
I just ordered a set of factory leather power heated seats to replace my cloth. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions and thoughts on how to hook up the heated seats since I did not have them in the cloth.???
What parts do I need to order to make it OEM?
OR should I just install aftermarket seat heaters?

Were your cloth seats in bad shape? I couldn't imagine ordering leather seats would be cheap.
Maybe give these a look before you drop some serious coin on new seats.

Ah ok. In that case im not sure how to go about hooking up heated seats. You might have the proper connectors under your seat already, you just didn't have the heated seats to plug into before now. That, and you would have to wire in the hi/low/off controls somewhere.
Im sure someone will chime in with better info.

I'm in the same boat, but with an 06. Picked up the seats used. From what I can see, we will need a wiring diagram for the trucks (with and without heated seats), the "plug" for the truck side of the harness, and the switches. Problem is... I don't have part numbers for these bits, and I don't have the wiring harness diagrams... Any help?
Thanks
Thanks
I agree... I bought a set from china on ebay for $100 (both front seats) total. Easy install - just pull up the cover far enough and slide them in. Made a clean install. I put the switches on either side of the climate control area on the dash.

i have a simialar situation, i have a power drivers seat and recently found an awsome deal on black heated leather seats, i was hopeing for a plug and play swap but my plug in coming out of the carpet is fairly square and the connector on the leather seat is rectangular, im guessing its because of the extra wires for the heat, does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about making this work, and im also not to sure about the wires under the passenger seat, i couldnt find any, so i was thinking of either getting a manual base for the passenger side or trying to wire something up myself if it wasnt going to be to much of a hassel
Hey Matt...
I think the wires come from the drivers side. On my new seats, the centre console plugs into the drivers seat, and the passenger seat plugs into the centre console, I believe (I haven't had a chance to look hard). Still haven't had a chance to go digging re- the wires under the carpet, so keep us informed on whatever you find, please...

yea i actually thought thats how it was wired up in mine as well ive changed the center console in my moms 03 before and thats how it looked like it was wired up, ill be another week or so before i do the swap, just working in edson right now, going to swap on my last day of work as its coming out of the guys truck i work with, then i was going to tinker with the wiring when i get back home.
I went through this for several weeks and finally just did installed the aftermarket controllers. The wiring is in the dash but the control wires are not all ran on all trucks. I was able to plug the switch in and get it to work but the seat voltage was only half of what it needed to be for the rostra kit to work right. It was easier to wire them and put the switches in front of the 4wd selector on the floor.
you have to have the right YEAR seats for your YEAR truck.
i put 05 heated seats in my 06.
finally had to run them off a relay & switch on the front of the driver side seat.
it's a PAIN unless you have all matching parts.
i would do aftermarket, if i had to do it again.
i could not find how to make the backs heat up without the bottom. butt burns up before your back is just right.

The 05-back plug is different than the 06-up. Been there done that! I found my Factory black/grey "sport seats" at a salvage yard. When all was said and done, I got leather and made $300! How that happened is I got the full length center console which would not fit in my truck due to my transfer case lever...sold the console for $500 and my old seats for $400. I did have my center console covered with the perforated leather to match the sport seats. One of the best "hustles" I ever made on my truck. I would not have kept this truck with the HORRIBLE fabric on the 06 trucks. Seat heaters are next for me.. I need them now!
