Add amps without splicing factory radio

For those of you who are keeping your factory radio, but want to add an amp, here's something I found.

I'm sure there are tons of aftermarket head units that do everything and are a step up from the factory radio. I have the RAH MP3 radio, and want to keep everything looking factory. In my eyes, or hopefully, the eyes of others, you can't steel what you don't see. I upgraded to Infinity Kappas, which sound fantastic compared to the factory radio.

However, I also didn't want to splice the factory wires to add an amp and sub. So, I found an aftermarket harness that goes between the factory radio and the factory radio plug. Works perfectly.

?

now does that only work with blaupunkt amps? Or will it work with the factory radio and any amp? I tried checking on their website, but it isnt real user friendly. I have the factory infinity sound system in my truck, but having an amp and a subwoofer added to the existing stereo would be a serious improvement!

It has Blaupunkt plugs for the speaker wires, meant for "plug and play" with their amps. If you're not using Blaupunkt amps, then cut off those ends. That still gives you your speaker wires, just without the Blaupunkt plugs.

i could be wrong, but i thought it said somewhere that is was not for trucks with the premium sound system. i think you need to run the factory amp if you want to run the factory infinity speakers, 'cause the factory amp also contains the crossovers.

figures..... When I bought this truck, I bought it off the lot and I tried to get them to delete the infinity sound system out of the truck, would have rather put my own set-up in it. But they said "not a chance". I'd already got them to agree on several other items, so I figured maybe I could live with this infinity stereo for a while. Hoping it lasts till i finish paying off the mortgage on the truck! Still would like a small subwoofer though. The JL audio stealthbox is freakin great, but YIKES! on the price!!!!
