Splicing RECON cab lights?

I just got my RECON cab lights on and I see the problom with them, that cheap 2 wire connection,no wonder they got proploms, anyway has any one cut and direct wired them up yet? I was thinking about doing it.

That or my Petercar had dash lights like that and after using some tinfoil never had a problom with then anymore.

I hard wired mine and got rid of that little connector. that way you don't have any problems.

save yourself a ton of time in the long run and just hard wire it while you have the headliner down. will only take about 20 more minutes to do it. will be kicking yourself if you don't

well sounds like you got lucky. I would hard wire it though while you are there.

Ya,def hard wiring it,

Ooo forgot to ask this,I also installed the 3rd brade light(LED) from RECON,and I have noticed that the cargo light seems to be very dimmly lit all the time,so dim that you have to look close at night to see it,any thoughts on this?

Mine is pretty bright when I have the actual cargo light switch turned on, if the doors are open then the light is dim. I have the bed lights too so I don't worry about the cargo light putting out enough to see anything.

It's bright enough,it's just after I lock it up using the key fob it stays on just very dim.

When you buy the Recon kit does it come with a cab layout like the Mopar kit does? Just curious, if not how do you know where to drill the holes?

Yes...VERY SOON! Heath is getting a template from Shane, and I am sending him another one with the added markings for a Dakota as well as a Ram.
