A/C works on Passenger side after 20 min
I have replaced the blend door when I had no control over vents. I also replaced the defrost door with the newer "improved" model. All day job. Now I have no a/c for the first 20 min on the passenger side. Anybody solve this issue?? This A/C system is the worst pile of dog feces ever. Ford would be proud.

Ford should be proud, their A/C rocks compared to the Dodges POS. My recirc. door broke at 8100 miles. Repaired by local dealer and either the mechanic or detail shop scratched the you know what out of the top of my dash .

Add me to the list... with the fan on it sounds like cards in bicycle spokes.
I am out of warranty, and I hate to fix it for the quoted $800.00 and have it reoccur in 12,000 more.... Just makes my water boil

For what it is worth. I did go in and replace the recirculation door which is located above the fan assy. The glare shield and dash have to be completely taken out. The new door seems to have more beef to it, right where it engages the electric motor. I also fixed the pass. blend door. You have to take the ducts out and it is straight up from the transmission hump. I took kevlar/ carbon fiber cloth and used West Systems epoxy to reinforce the broken door. It broke at the same point the recirculation door broke. Very weak design. At some point they will fail. It seems that there is more stress if you change air distribution while the fan is on high. Just wanted to let you guys know. The parts are fairly cheap. It is all labor.

mr. bee. i had the same problem on my 07 work truck. what you hear is part of the door has broken off and is in your fan. all i did was to remove 3 screws to drop the fan out and remove the piece that fell off the door. at the same time i was able to reach up and eaisly remove the door. now i have great air flow for my ac.

I've had to replace my mode door twice now. Once under warranty at 15,000 and again last winter at 55,000 with the whole housing, door and the stupid little plastic pin.

Mine has been fixed 3 times in 60,000 miles and it is broke again probably for the last 20,000 miles, 2 fixes were supposedly the new and inproved door.
I asked the dealer if they have come up with a better solition for this re-ocurring problem.
He said no.
So I said well there is no sense in tearing it apart again I have enough scratched plastic to last me quite a while.
To bad soneone dosen't come up with a mechanically operated aftemarket solution for these doors, like the old hand choke push / pull wire kits they used to sell.
