3rd party window tint

I've been back twice for window tint, problem is in odd spots the tint gives the appearance like looking through heat rising off a hot road. If you're stopped next to a sign and you move your head left to right, it gives the impression of vertical waves in the window and you can see the letters in the sign sort of bounce around. Now when they redid it the problem spots moved , I mean now what was a bad window is now good and vice versa. Question is have any of you guys had any problems with having your windows tinted. I'm paying $350 and have selected the next to best grade of tint so it's not that I'm skimping.

Thanks

I did mine myself (tinted windows when I was in high school) I used 3M tint. I have only seen what you are describing when there was something on the glass when the tint was applied or if the adhesive had not dried completely yet. The adhesive will dry quickly in the summer time but can take much longer in the winter. Dont know what they told you but that is what i would suspect

I had my front windows and a extra dark band put on the windshield for $80. Oh yeah looks great and have had no problems. I did have mine done during the summer. They say it can take up to 3 or 4 months to completely dry and even longer in the winter time

I had my windows tinted because they had very little if any from the factory. They tint the windows from the inside. That means the tint is exposed to scrapes, rubs, and window cleaners that have ammonia in them. The ammonia will ruin the tint after awhile. As far as the temperture goes I haven't seen any distortion in cold weather but the windows with this tint have only been exposed to a low of 25*.--Ray

Things sure are more expensive in California, I got the best tint available for I believe $120, and no problems.

That is dead on adhesive is not drying. Those blurry spots will (dry) up in time. I also tinted all my own windows. I mean the windows were like that when I bought the truck officer!
