2nd gen brakes on 3rd gen truck

is this possible or has anyone ever tried putting brake callipres from a second gen and put them on a 3rd gen. 16" tires look a lot better and are alot cheaper

...and the truck won't stop as quickly and the factory increased the size of the brakes for no good reason. Please don't screw around with the brakes. The family in the Avenger, their life may depend on the big brakes on your truck. Shop around for tires. Its cheeper it the long run.

I can't imagine going backwards on brake technology and performance just to make the tires look better. That's an interesting priority.

Dodge really got the 3rd gen brakes right. Best I've ever had on any vehicle. Function is beauty.

actually the 16's look like garbage i think is there more tire sizes yes but not enough rim means too much rubber and the braking on a 2nd gen is just garbage!

If you can't afford the tires, you should be driving something else!

This is a question that gets asked a lot of times. Give the guy a break!

I don't think 16s look better anyways. My neighbor put 3rd gen stock 17s on his 01 CTD and they look a lot better than his stock 16" wheels did. As far as the brakes go, I agree with Raspy. I wouldn't even think about going backwards there...
