the drivers side tow mirrow does not stop in the detent possition it seems like the mirrow has a larger space between the two peices where they pivot. Has amyone taken them apart and what is on the inside at the pivot point? It seems like a cap on the bottom of the pivot point is there a bolt or a screw there I dont have power mirrows Thanks Randy

Sometime this summer someone wrote up a procedure on disassembling the mirror and fixing the detent part. Sorry for the lack of more information. It sure can't hurt to try to fix it first, you can't break something that's already broke . The worst you will need to do is buy a new or used one later. I found two post that may help.

i have the same problem on my 03 on the passenger side it doesnt lock into position and there is a larger gap like you described i would also like to know how to fix it.
