2006 RAM Changes

Just saw this article on the 2006 RAM. Looks like some pretty significant changes...

"The Ram gets a new frame, front suspension, interior and body style, the Mega Cab."

Read on:

Should be some hot deals on 2005's once the 2006's are on the lots, if not before!

Thanks for the clarification! I re-read the article and it jumps all over the place from light-duty to heavy-duty and from hemi to diesel and mega-cab. Could have been better written had they identified the specific RAM model (1500/2500/3500) those NEW features relate to. Guess that's just "marketing speak".

Darn...now I can't tell the wife we need a new truck cause the frame and suspension are better.

Well as long as you hide the artical from her and don't take her when you get it then you can still tell her that...right!!

Unfortunately, she knows too much...she is the one who introduced me to diesels via her '95 12V Ram before we got hitched! I never told her I fell in love with her truck first

I wonder if they'll do like they did with the 3rd gens. and come out with the 2500's a model year later than the 1500's.

From reading allpar.com, it appears that the next all-new Ram 1500 will debut for MY '09 and the 2500/3500 following one year later. I think that the 2500/3500 will see some major changes for MY'07. I've read some very juicy info from some people who seem to know what's going on at DC, about 4500/5500 Ram for '07, 6-speed auto trans, and all-new, larger displacement (6.7l) Cummins for '07. With all those new additions, and Ford's current king-of-the-hill GVW and tow ratings, I think we'll see new frames and, if the '06 MegaCab sells real well, a MC long bed and dually next fall.
