I have a 2003 2500 with the 12volt power port in the console. I ordered a 2004 that will not have this as apart of the console. My question is, where does the power for this power port originate from? Is it tied into the powerseat wiring harness? Is it possible to just disconnect from the 2003, and install it in the 2004?

 

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. If you are talking about the 12volt outlet that looks like a cig. lighter, all the 04s that I have seen have one,as well as a cig. lighter.
Only difference is the lighter is only hot when key is on, and the outlet is hot all the time.
I have not looked at the ST, only the SLT and laramie.

 

I think Truckjerk is talking about the arm rest/storage bin between the front seats. As far as I know any 04/04.5 with that option have the 3rd power port in the console. I think it's part of the premium cloth seat option.

I did a little bit of digging a while back and it appeared to me that it was it's own harness. I never went far enough to see where it got it's power from but it looked to be separate from the power seat harness.

Yeah, you're on target. I have the SLT "standard seat" option in the 2004. My 2003 has the premium seat option. Id like to put the 12volt port in the console of the 2004. Thanks
