Acces to the reverse ligths switch?

Acces to the reverse ligths switch?
I can feel the switch sitting on top,driver side of the NV4500 but can't see nothing its far to close to the floors pan...I don't know how they get off of the transmission neither
ressed in screwed or what? Pulling upwards simply on it?
From under there I can see very clearly,into the floor pan just ahead the shifter,a maybe 2X4 inches metal cover bolted down into the floor.Looking from inside the truck this area is covered by carpet.Now could this be an access door to that switch?
Anybody knows what is this plate for?And if there is a "right" way to remove/replace the switch please let me know.

To unplug the harness, just pull out horizontally. Its angled slightly towards the front or the back, can't remember which. Should come out fairly easily. As for replacing the actual switch, I never went that far.
