'07 OEM Security

Do any of you folks have the sequence of steps to take to lock your doors with the key fob (set security system on) while your truck is running with another key in the ignition to step into the convenience store for two minutes for example?

I could have swore I got it to do it once when I just picked it up, but i'll be darned if I can remember how now. Everything I try isn't working.

That's what I want it to do! Push the lock button on the key fob, get the doors locked, and the horn honk. However, mine won't while the truck is running with the other key in the ignition.

I got it to do it once by mistake, but can't remember how.

All I have is the factory OEM security with keyless entry - whichever one that is. Key fob and key are all in the same package.

Hit the nail on the head with that one! There are other "conspiracies" I found with our trucks, but those are for other forums....like the price! Sheesh!

SRTChris, I got it. When you first start the truck, you can lock with the other key fob while it's running to warm up for example. Unfortunately, like your and my situation, if you drive it at all and stop somewhere, it will not lock with the key fob while leaving it running again. Then after you shut the truck down, something resets, and your able to lock with fob again.

There must be a way to defeat this so one can lock all the time.

Curious

I'm curious now. Need to see what mine does. Haven't tried to lock with the other fob while running.

Trust me. If yours does the same, we'll both be going hmmmmmmmm. I can't for the life of me figure why it would work the way it does.

Finally tried mine. It works. Started her up and locked the doors with the other fob. Horn sounded and she locked. Unlocked when I pushed unlock on fob.

Oh yes, myself and SRTchris have already disovered this. Now, after doing the unlock thing, go for a drive (around the block even), et out of the truck and try locking with the other fob again. Unless we're missing something, you'll see that it won't do again it until you shut down the truck, set your security on (lock the doors), then unlock, start truck - only then will you be able to lock while running again.

Makes no sense!
