It is amazing browsing that website the amount of probs they are having. Sounds like their wonderful new auto tranny isn't all that wonderful. Almost as bad as the problems the Allison was having when they first came out with the 1000. Sure luv my 6 speed.

It amazes me that a guy can be on his 3rd ford after two buybacks and now have the problematic oil leak again, yet he still says, "I love this truck though". Talk about slow learners!

They always go on about Dodge Trannys. The Fist generations transmission gave very little trouble. The second generation was weak and failed more often and earlier. The 3rd generation(48re)is not being much of a problem.

And these guys say Dodge transmissions are crap?
You can't argue with those guys, they think all Dodge trannys are junk, the Cummins motor is an old, outdated engine that the public refuses to buy, and the rest of the truck is a poorly made light duty disposable piece of crap. Of course they think the 6.0 is the greatest motor ever put in a truck. Ford can do no wrong in their eyes. All trucks have problems, it just takes a mature, honest man to actually admit the obvious at times. Even with all the f250 buy backs and now the exploding torque shift saga, some of those guys will never admit that their trucks may have some faults. They go on the sales thing as an explanation as to what proves the SD is the ultimate truck. Most smart people know sales are a poor gauge of quality. I know the Ford taurus was #1 for many years, but I would like to actually meet someone today that actually thinks that the ford taurus was the best car made at that time, muuuhaha . Scientist are now looking into a strange phenom known as "blue oval on the brain". Sufferers of this disease are known to show signs of not being able to accept reality and showing a total disregard of the known facts.

The Taurus was only because lots were bought by the RENTAL companys.Ford does a good job at moving to the rental companys.Every young couple that lived in a signal wide trailer with poor credit and a child the missus drove a new Ford Escort and hubby drove a NEW 4 banger Ranger,The Taurus was the TOP rental company(and fleet) auto for a few years. It boosts numbers of units by a lot.

You speak the truth! I know for a fact that Ford does some real shady, unethical things to boost sales numbers. I doubt it is exclusive to Ford but I have never heard of other makers doing such things. Ford hangs thier hat on sales more then any other auto maker IMO. Kinda like the "everyone else is doing it, so you should too!"

I had a 6.0L..........got rid of that POS 4 months in.

Everyone was telling......."oh you should have had them buy it back, and got another".......

...........I don't have "retard" or "stupid" stamped on my forehead.

It was a ROYAL POS..........rear main (2 times), injectors that wouldn't stop leaking, crap MPG, moonroof that wouldn't stop vibrating, loose steering.........the **** list goes on and on.

........oh yeah.....I really wanted another one of those things.......NOT!

However, my 99.5......simply AWESOME!

Any sales guru at most auto dealers are well aware how Ford boost numbers.I use to get tickled at Fords ads.Number 1 auto in sales THREE YEARS RUNNING.Number 1 fleet/rental and combined with retail sales made it number 1.Escort was also most REPOed auto for years. Those young trailer Princess put a jillion non serviced miles on them before the payments were through. When they broke they just parked them and waited.
