Gauges installed...sorry, no pics!

Purchased the pod from Geno's garage
Purchased Autometer NV series from egauges.com

Found the factory water temp gauge is pretty accurate....still like the resolution of a real gauge.

Trans temp....climbs easily when sitting in traffic, and cools easily when rolling down the road, or even better when going down the freeway. 180-200 when sitting in traffic; 160-170 rolling down the freeway; ~180 roling through the city.

Oil pressure...spec: >10psi at idle, >45psi at 2500rpm. Readings: 20psi at hot idle; 65psi at 2500rpm

Pyro...all over the place, depending on throttle & load, but typically less than 1300F.

I used a fuse block from geno's garage that has 4 switched circuits on a relay; used the cigarette lighter circuit to swith the relay on the fuse block to power the gauges only when the key is in run or accy. It also allows for easier future mods that need power.

HTH

I mounted mine over the mirror, really like it. I have pictures in my gallery. The night view makes the overhead gauges really green and the dash lights white. I dont know how to make the picture better .The bad part is drilling the manifold. A brand new truck and making holes in it .

I'm also wanting to install guages and was thinking of pyro, boost, and maybe a fuel press. Is the fuel press necessairy on the 3rd gen's?

Bought the dual guage from Geno's. This setup retains the stock grab bar.

Thanks

Gauge was about $200. I think the pillar was $40 +/-. Install was very easy. Pillar is from an 05' SRT-10. No paint required.

Foxborough, What did you have to take apart to run everything up to the overhead?

foxborough, where did you get the mount for your guages. I like that set up. Also does anyone know if there is a a-pillar 2 guage that reatins the grab bar, or is there just not enough room?

I got all my stuff for the gauges from DieselManor. The Kit and the interior paint was $254. Everything I needed was there except for a way to tie the sensor to the transmission. I got the transmission line from MassDiesel ($80). The only thing that had to be taken apart was the A Pillar, that is so the wires can run up to the gauges. I had problems with the transmission line leaking. I can't say for sure if it was operator error or not, but MassDiesel sent me another one and all was well. The wires tuck up into the overhead I used 2 sided tape but it wanted to fall down when it got warm. Use "super glue for weather stripping" put 2 drops on the wires and it stayed. The overhead mount does'nt have a whole lot of room once everything is installed. I made some access holes to tighten the gauges from the backside. I installed everything in April and verry happy with it. The transmission stays surprisingly cool when towing. Only in the Ozarks did it want to rise above 160*, stop & go traffic, hilly and hot. Locked out O/D and behaved on the acceleration and not a problem.
