Just checked mine . . . # 52121621AA, and they bottom out all of the time . . . still not sure if it is weak springs, shocks or both.

Have any of you guys tried puting a pair of shocks on the out side of the spring and a new shock on the in side. So if you do that you will have 6 shocks total with this in mind when you hit a bump it should have a lot more compression on the down stroke there for no more bottoming . WHAT DO YOU THINK "may be rancho rs 6000"

Zip . . . you might be going past my skill level now . I hadn't thought about that. I did find a set of 4 bilstiens on e-bay for about $300 w/ shipping. Advance Auto Parts sells Rancho's for it, and Autozone doesn't have anything yet (checked today). I really don't know what to do at this point. I have to do something by March, because I will be putting about 300lbs of gear on the front hitch, and those stock shocks are not going to cut it

Do you have any pics on how to install the shocks on the outside of the springs? What is the cost to get that set up?

I just emailed a dealer in eastern Canada and they returned with Bilstein only makes a 5100 shock for the third gen 1500's currently. Have you got more reputable and encouraging informtion?

I was going to suggest a better shock before going to the trouble of changing springs. Bilstiens are the only way to go IMO.

Unless you want to spend big money and have a 4x4 shop convert your front end with some king bypass coilovers. That would be the ultimate in 'dialed in' suspension.

Don Thuren can help you out with this, and it isn't that expensive, probably cheaper than you think.
