'04 QC CB Radio Install Question

Yeah, if you have a bare end cable you could just drill a hole large enough for that wire to fit thru. My coax has the big screw on terminals at each end, plus I plan on adding some driving lights in the future, and will need a place to run those wire too. From the firewall back, I just zip-tied the coax to the E-brake cable

Anybody use one of these?
Looks like it might work pretty nice. It uses the existing fender mount bolt under the hood. I am going to get one for my scanner.

What ant. are you using with that mount? I like the idea, but I really wonder what it'd look like....any photos of that ant/mount on your truck?

Strick,
I have used a window mount in my last two trucks. They have worked well enough for what I need. I couldnt find the same window mount that I used before, dont even know the brand. This one is a cheap Midland model. These are the SWR readings from this radio and antenna combo. Readings are good, reception is pretty good. Havent been on the highway long enough to know how it really gets out. But from testing around town it will be fine for me.
Channel 1 SWR 1.7 Transmit Power 2.8
Channel 19 SWR 1.5 Transmit Power 3.5
Channel 40 SWR 1.7 Transmit Power 2.9

Ok, I have my radio mounted (will post pics later) and I have the cable run through the firewall...now I just need to mount an ant. I'm going to try that mount that goes under the hood, but I'm wonding about the cable.... can you use a screw-on type connector and if so, where do you run the cable to get it from the engine compartment out to the exterior?
thanks,
daniel
thanks,
daniel
