Smarty JR to JR ME software question
Smarty JR to JR ME software question
I have the standard Jr for my 6.7 and want to update the software to the ME version today so I can test drive my truck this evening after I get the exhaust on. I assume I just go into the Mads website and download the JR ME software under the JR ME icon and it should be that simple correct? I have windows vista and shouldn't have any issues, correct?
Any info will be appreciated.

That is the correct procedure to update from the Standard software to the ME
But....
If you dont have the deletes in place, dont do it... It will cause all kinds of havoc.

As usual Blake, your always on the ball answering questions. Prolly won't removed the EGR until next weekend but will do all the other fun stuff.

Also, where can I find the step by step instructions for the EGR stuff and the butterfly removal for my 07.5? The ex is pretty self explanitory but just want som instructions just in case.

Do the exhaust, remove the EGR actuator plunger, unplug the throttle valve and EGR Cooler and youre good to go until you can (if planned) remove all of the EGR hardware.

I did all of the hardware work, then loaded up the Smarty and gave my 6.7 its first breath of fresh air.
The butterfly removal is no longer really necessary, but myself I didnt want it there.
Instead of removing it, and it being next to impossible to replace (you more than likely will break the torx screws removing them) I just deleted it. The throttle valve delete is only 75 bucks and removes everything.
I can get pics for you if interested.

This is the throttle valve delete itself. Free flowing, installs with four easy bolts, and completely eliminates any chance of the butterfly valve closing.

It would replace the entire assembly that is shown on the intake horn here, where the butterfly valve is.

Here is a halfway decent pic of it installed.
