Probably buying a clean 07.5.....

The ideas are already rolling around in my head. Found a clean Laramie QC. Lightly used, clean and the price is right. It actually looks as though the truck still has a month 0f 5/100 warranty left on it. Anything I need to have checked before it runs out? Actually, Carfax says there is an outstanding emissions recall as of now but otherwise its good to go. Sticker on the radiator cowl say ECM was re-flashed on '09.

I plan on deleting it/programmer/exhaust etc. at some point. Thinking about H&S plus Overdrive. Opinions anybody?

Let see....there's wheels, maybe tires, straight through/resonator muffler (or maybe none), front window tint.......

Trucks all good except for a mild master cylinder leak. Can't wait to get started with deletes and mods.

Yeah, its definitely gotta have some wheels. Brake dust or something got to the chrome ones and they're not so pretty. I always liked the mid 2000's 5 spoke factory alloys. Had a set on my '04. Maybe I can find a set. Most of the wheels out there now are just tacky looking to me. I'd like something that looks like a classic Weld but without the price!!

07.5

Just switched to a 07.5 myself. Kinda the same deal. Found a great deal on a low mile unit, dumped the 11 and picked up this one. Got the smarty on it already, thinking about switching up to the semi tires and wheels (the 22.5's). Can find the wheels and adaptors very reasonalby, but the tires I like are about $500 each, and with 6 of them, thats a lot of cash...

Well, here's one I took late last week. The tool box is off of it now and for sale on craigslist if anybody wants it. The tires are showing a little dry rot on the sidewall but the tread's good. I'd like to go a shade bigger on tires and DEFINITELY get wheels. Would 285's fit ok under the stock front wells or would a level kit be a better bet? There doesn't seem to be much out there in 295s and 305s I'm afraid might be a bit much.

I really like this body style better. It's not as angular looking and the QC looks more in proportion with the truck than the crews on the newer trucks.

The 285's should work just fine and without any leveling. That is what I'm looking to go with myself and hopefully avoid any potential steering or wobble issues.

It looks as though what I thought was master cylinder leak is coming from the hydro booster. Haven't pinned it down yet but its not bad. Anyone have experience with this? Never changed one.

Yeah I was thinking like maybe a 1.5 leveler with 285s for the front? I figure 285s ought to fill the rear wells a little better as is.

While this thread is still halfway breathing, I've been checking my mileage and I guess its a bit less than I figured I'd get----about 15.7 by hand average over two tanks. 16.5 by the overhead. I know that being down by sea level costs a little bit too but I was figuring I'd be in the mid 16's at least for a 2WD. My last tank was a light foot affair too. The first one----well, maybe just once I hit it LOL!

Anyway, since I haven't started deletes yet I was hoping I could get some info from some of the coastal members to get an idea what kind of mpg I'll be looking at after deletes? I'd like to see it into the 19 range if all goes well and anything over that is gravy. Definitely going to have a good free-breathing intake/exhaust and probably an H&S programmer when this is done. Thnx
