Full deletes

After getting the bill for a new particulate filter an a turbo charger. I took Blakes advise and did the deletes. I did the full deletes ALL egr cooler, valve an the full exhaust. The exhaust with all the sensors nox, ftr, particulate ftr. looked like some kind of high tech pipe-bomb.The truck runs so much better. and on level 3 on the programmer 30mph punch it will bake the tires off. I don't understand why they would choke down a vehicle an then complain about we need to get better mileage on the trucks and suv's.I don't think my truck will run off liquid AL GOREHot air doesn't burn.

I've been thinking of doing that to my late 09 megacab. Do you know if anyone makes a programmer yet for the trucks made after march 09?

Yep, MADS makes both a Smarty and a JR for late 09's. I lucked out and got a pre March 09, at 10K the EGR, DPF and Cat fell off after the purchase of a JR ME, 24K now and no complaints.

So what did the particulate filter and turbo cost?

I have a H&S for my 2010 so I am sure they would have something for your late 09

Desooting around $400.

The way the w/o is wrote up with parts prices an labor charges it's hard to do the breakdown. total bill was $8628.13

Holy Cow, that's steep. I looked up a replacement DPF and the Dodge (OEM) Parts site has it listed @ $2150 for an '09. Never in my life did I think a piece of tube with a screen in it could cost so much. If they dinged you even more ($5645???) I'd be asking why.... maybe you got the Turbo and DPF prices reversed? For that kind of money ($8628) you could have done a whole lot to the Truck.

I went back an had found another post from Redrum Hauler he had said his dads was $ 6800. luckily under warranty. Ever what kind of precious metals probably tungston? I should be able to melt it down to a blob, take it to my nearest Dodge dealer an trade it for a 1/2 ton truck

Geez... Thank goodness for being able to delete. If my stock equipment was bad, I would find a buddy with a working stock system and pay him a nice days wage to let me unbolt his junk and put it on mine to pass the stupid test and then delete right back!!! Aside from the turbo being a part of the system, that is about all I would invest back in to...

Did the full deletes a year ago , absolutely no regrets . I now have a 8200 lb sports car that can easily spank a hemi in a 1500 without even breaking a sweat
