Question DPF Delete

Hey guys,

i'm new to the 6.7. My buddy has an 07-08 6.7, stick, 4x4, dually and is haveing DPR problems (having to take it to dealer to de-soot) too often, last trip was $500+. Anyway he wants to get rid of it.

What do we need?

Smarty and piece of 4" pipe to go in place of DPF?

thanks in advance...

You can easily change back to stock if you need to with just the egr delete its when you delete the cooler that takes a little time. You dont need to delete the cooler if you dont want to. I cant prove it but you dont gain any benefit by deleting the cooler except like I did, by drilling and tapping one of the plates for the egt probe instead of my manifold. The egr delete is only 4 bolts to remove the plastic cover and 4 bolts to remove the egr and 4 screws to remove the motor and take out the plunger and one bolt to take the crosstube off and one bolt to put the crosstube blockoff plate on and your done. It takes a whole total of about 15min. Also the egrcooler delete does look clean though it looks like a 5.9 until you see that big 6.7 litre decal on the valve cover. lol

id have to say that it does not take no 15 min to do a egr delete. it would take a whole lot longer like an hour or more depending. If id have to do it over again id prolly keep the cooler on there. Buy the tbe kit for sure, dont hack on the original exhaust just in case you need to go make a trip to the dealer.

uh yah if you delete the cooler it will take about an hour or a little longer but if you just delete the egr, it only takes about 15min.

got soot, no problem buddy I just wanted to make sure he had a good idea of what the egr delete consisted of. but you are right the egr cooler takes at least an hour to do. at least when you do it by yourself.

I'm guessing he's out of warranty since he had to pay for the service visit?
