so i get caught with the deletes but am given another warranty chance if i un delete it. what would happen if u build plates ( where the gaskets go ) to put between egr cooler and exh manifold? maybe a dumb idea just lookin for a little info
yeah been gone all week and was hoping for something too. guess the only problem would be the throttle valve, which i was hoping you could rip the butterfly out and fool it but still a little gunshy to try
I have not done the stealth delete nor will I. I am my own warranty station since 08, and have not had any issues with my truck to cause me to go to the dealer.
When I did have the emission equipment on the truck working I had more than four visits with in a month just for the emission issues. I have not had any issues with the engine and did not expect any during the warranty period.
I am wondering do you use a programmer on your truck? If so this needs to be removed because this too will void your warranty and on the newer trucks such as the 6.7L engine they can be detected.

Unfortunately from the information I have aquired from alot of people on here...any programmer you use on the 6.7 can be detected if the tech wants to dig hard enough...ill just pass some advice along to you that I have recieved...call your dealership and get a feel for what they have to say about Mods and warranty work...I think it was Blake that told me that him and his dealership have an understanding that they know a dpf delete or a programmer is not going to cause a seat motor to go out but if he walks in there with a fried tranny he knows that he will pay out of pocket...so like I said I would call the dealership and feel them out...but dont say anything about doing it to your truck just use hypothetical questions.

I just strait up asked my dealer if I could throw a programmer and deletes on my truck. The service MGR recommended I do them. All he said was don't come in for emmisions warranty with it missing from the truck. He said mechanical breakage would be on case by case basis. They have only denied one warranty claim in the last 20 years on a Cummins. The guy had twins running around 100 psi of boost and caused his stock intercooler to explode. They asked Dodge to replace it, but dodge said no (For obvious reasons.) He said transmission problems are 50/50 but everything else he could probably get chrysler to pay for. With a programmer and everything installed in the truck.

Looking through the warranty manual only shows the following as reasons to void any warranty:
Modifications That WILL Void Your
Warranties
These actions will void your warranties:
• disconnecting, tampering with, or altering the
odometer will void your warranties, unless your
repairing technician follows the legal requirements
for repairing or replacing odometers; or
• attaching any device that disconnects the
odometer will also void your warranties.
It also states that:
Your warranties don’t cover the costs of repairing damage or conditions caused by any of the following:
• tampering with the emission systems, or with a part that could affect the emission systems.
Which leads me to believe that they need to prove that deleting the emissions crap is the reason for any failures to begin with. I would highly discourage anyone going out and putting on a Smarty at level 8 or 9, but doing a delete and keeping a tuner at a realistic power level doesn't give Dodge any right to void the warranty. If something breaks it may be hard to disprove the tuner, but it will be equally as hard for them to prove it was the tuner.
My local dealership service is willing to stand behind the product as long as I'm not out racing.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong about this. My most recent visits to the dealer for parts etc, allowed me to discuss a few items such as this with the service manager. He is stating that each and everytime their diagnostic tool is hooked up to the vehicle, Dodge, or Chrysler/Fiat sees everything via wireless feed. Any truth to that? If thats the case, a dealer could be hard pressed to push some warranty stuff through if there is a visual of the parameters that have been changed by the tuners.
Just saying what I was told. It does not matter to me as I voided my warranty the moment I imported my truck to Canada and the rules for emissions are different where I live. Since the deletes I have gained longevity, mileage and performance. No major issues with the truck since day one other then emissions related that got addressed with surgery.

would come up with a response to this for you, it has potential to be a great way to delete while hopefully not screwing up the warranty IMO
